Jin Rui is another of the mysteries of the Kuei-Jin wu of Seattle. He stood back from the conflict while others argue and brawl, or so it seems. Who knows what he was really up to?

Someone was responsible for finding Kai's agents in the International District; someone was behind the possession of El Jefe and his near-destruction; and then there's the possession of James that nearly ended in Dane's violent death. Was it Hayashi behind it all? Was it Lin Yao? The coterie have seen Kuei-Jin travel into the spirit world; could the Shadowlands be within their grasp as well?

Or was it something else entirely? Jin Rui seemed content to stand back and watch over Hayashi, as a mentor with his student, perhaps. Jin Rui seems strangely absent from the other Cathayans now. Pietro may have caught him, of course, or it could be that the atomic blast destroyed more than just western vampires...but as usual, the blasted Kuei-Jin aren't talking.
