Joshua is a young man, and looks to be about twenty years old. He has a certain unexceptional quality to him that makes him easy to dismiss, and easier to forget. His dark hair is cut at a comfortable length, and when his dark eyes can be seen, they hint at his true age -- Joshua is far older than his looks indicate. This is seldom noticed, though, as he avoids eye contact when possible. It's a reasonable precaution, given his personal experience with the variety of mind-control powers Kindred possess.

Joshua carries himself well in spite of his purposefully ordinary looks, when he cares to. His skin is pale, as he sees little of the sun, and yet it is flushed with warmth and life compared to his undead friends. A combination of Kindred vitae and Life magick has made him far stronger and tougher than he appears to be. In fact, vampiric Potence has granted him superhuman strength, not that it shows. Though his build is fairly slender, his trimly muscled frame is as tough as iron, and his clothes do not always conceal his hidden reserves of strength.

What shows the most, though, is his natural, fluid grace. He moves like a dancer, or perhaps a stalking tiger. He uses this to his advantage at times, taking on a quiet, menacing air in the process. More often than not, his foul moods add to this generally unnerving disposition, as well as the unusual quality of Resonance -- part of his heritage as a true mage of the Order of Hermes. It shows in the charged intensity of his stare, a spark of static electricity at his fingertips, or the smell of ozone in his wake...as if a lightning bolt had just struck.

As for his aura, when checked it shimmers like a mirage. It is as pale as a vampire's, and sparkles when he uses magick. His colors always bear a strong, deep blue shade from the strength of his love for Morgan.

Joshua's attire changes as the Gangrel coterie takes to the highway, indulging in their Gangrel wanderlust. His clothing may vary depending on how cold the winter nights are, although he looks forward to seeing Seattle again. But the common elements of his outfit are a leather belt with an interlaced pattern of Celtic wolves tooled into it; the large oval-shaped buckle of ivory, or perhaps bone, is decorated with an inlay of black opal in the pattern of a finely detailed dragon's head. He always wears thin gloves of black leather when out in public. He prefers to take the gloves off when he can, revealing the short black talons that have replaced his fingernails. The talons have a somewhat reptilian look to them to the perceptive eye. The lighter clothes he wears at times reveal the patch of glittering black scales that cover his shoulder and part of his back, a more recent Beast-mark. Naturally, he chooses more concealing attire when he has to, in deference to the Masquerade.

What jewelry he wears is precious but simple, starting with a gold ring on each hand. One is decorated with a Celtic knotwork design, and set with an emerald; it matches the one Morgan wears from the time of their handfasting. The other is set with an onyx stone, and a raised image worked in gold bears the wolf's head symbol of Clan Gangrel - Morgan's mark on him. A gold chain carries a pendant which matches the gold and onyx ring he wears; the eye of the Gangrel wolf's head is a deep blue sapphire.  A more unusual necklace of leather carries what appears to be the talons and fangs of a Lupine...at least, to a knowing gaze. Finally, he wears a little charm-bag on a drawstring around his neck, a gift from his clan-sister Mari; it is a small piece of embroidered blue-black velvet, decorated with delicate traceries of overstitching reminiscent of scales or feathers.

To finish his common attire, he often has a carefully concealed Glock 18 machine pistol or Glock 22 heavy pistol holstered under a jacket or hidden in a backpack. He also seems to 'find' additional weapons, a palmed throwing knife always appearing in his hand when needed. Sometimes the best magicks are simple, coincidental tricks...

When Joshua is dressed for war, the marked difference speaks volumes. He wears form-fitting black leathers, their design similar to Morgan's favored battle-gear from her time as an Archon. His leathers, however, are armored: thin, molded plates of black metal are incorporated into the leather, forming patterns of scales. The resemblance to his Avatar-form is striking to those few know about it. The bracers of his armor are decorated with the design of a roaring dragon tooled into the leather, and a tiny pattern of cat's paws and snake trails on the very border of the wrist-guards might reveal who created that design for him. He also wears gloves as usual, knee-high black leather boots, and a trenchcoat when possible to conceal his weapons. When given time to prepare, he may have a matching leather helmet on, connected to a stiff collar that covers his neck, with flaps on the helmet to protect his face.

His armor also carries a harness for his weapons. Although his favorites are his pistols, throwing knives, a wide-bladed iron falchion and a USAS-12 automatic shotgun, he's been known to carry a wide variety of armaments. Found after battles or given as gifts by a variety of sources, his weapons may include a Steyr AUG assault rifle, an FN FAL battle rifle, or even a massive Scottish claymore. The iron-bladed falchion is his favorite weapon; the blade is wickedly sharp, as lethal as Protean claws, and leaves a trail of frost through the air in its wake. Just what Joshua has done to his 'fetish-blade' is something he keeps to himself.

Combined with his personal magicks to enhance speed and strength, and the occasional lightning bolt or fireball cast on the fly, Joshua makes a boon companion to Morgan on the battlefield. Running at peak efficiency, Joshua's magicks grant him the strength and toughness of a Lupine in war-form, and his preternatural swiftness in battle rivals Morgan's own. He may not be able to strike quite as hard as his soulmate, and his still-human form suffers more in a fight...but as he will admit, his magick allows him to "cheat," when push comes to shove.

Jaeger, Joshua's Weimaraner

Tegan, Morgan's Russian Blue cat

The Menagerie

Jaeger is Joshua's pet, a Weimaraner by breed. Morgan's original intent may have been to ground Joshua in Necropolis, even to bring back some of the humanity he's lost while being in the company of the Kindred for so long. Now that they are leaving the dark city behind, Joshua sees no reason to abandon his favorite furry rascal.

Already at his physical peak and staying there thanks to a steady diet of Cainite vitae, Jaeger -- German for "Hunter" -- has helped Joshua to harness the awakening Animalism talent gifted to him by Morgan's vitae. But Jaeger is known better for clowning around, nicknamed "Swift-Bounce" by one of Mari's pets for his tendency to jump around recklessly...sometimes over people's heads! A dog with Potence is a terrible thing to waste.

The overgrown puppy has become Joshua's favorite companion, certainly when compared to Morgan's "blasted owl," the little barn owl Myrddin. Weimaraners are hunting dogs, and Joshua has trained Jaeger to be a useful hunting companion as well as a pet. Jaeger's hunting instincts are formidable, and it doesn't hurt that animals react so strongly to hidden, Obfuscated vampires. It's quite a sight to find the floppy-eared dog "pointing" at a Cainite hiding in the shadows...just before an enchanted bullet remedies the situation.

Tegan, on the other hand, is Morgan's latest addition to the couple's little menagerie. As a kitten, she was a birthday gift from Joshua back in 2002. Tegan is a friendly and inquisitive Russian Blue cat. Having outgrown Morgan's coat pocket, she now gets to ride in a backpack slung over her shoulder when they go wandering. No self-respecting feline would actually walk, you understand. Not when one's servants...er, people will carry her!

A bit skittish by nature, Tegan nevertheless enjoys going everywhere Morgan and Joshua go, watching everything around with large emerald-green eyes much like Morgan's. She will even permit other Gangrel to pet her. Provided, of course, that the Gangrel gets along with animals...and showers her with attention. Cats were once worshiped as gods, you know.

1951 Buick 4-door

Joshua's preferred vehicle used to be a 2000 Indian Chief; after an unfortunate mishap with his old '56 MGA, he picked up the new motorcycle with 50's-era styling to replace it. But with the growth of their collection of furry little twits, he needed a larger car to carry his overgrown puppy and Morgan's cat in.

Joshua's "new" car is a remodeled 1951 Buick, although it only seems like a vintage model from the outside. His long-time friend Dr. Carlisle has seen to the modernization of the vehicle from a performance standpoint. Nevertheless, Joshua seems to prefer the look of a classic car. He was truly young, back in the Fifties, and so Joshua retains a certain fondness for things from that time.
